Original Soundtracks

Music

No movie would survive without music.

A movie soundtrack can be either a compilation of well-know artists’ songs or made specifically to the movie by a contemporary composer.

Music makes us dream and helps us understand the movie director’s real intentions, when introducing a topic or emotion. Music is also the reason why there are some movies we will never forget.

In this blog we will present and discuss original soundtracks from both recent and old movies.

And you can also listen to samples of famous movie songs.

So, join and help us build an interactive page with information on music… music from the movies we like.

Pulp Fiction

Original soundtrack of the movie by Quentin Tarantino.
Movie composed of different scenes inhabited by characters, presumably disconnected from one another but with a close connection arrived at by the end of the movie.
The soundtrack pictures those different scenes, worlds and characters, wandering in a fragmented but uniform line of action. Amazing!

Out of Africa

The great irony of John Barry''s Academy Award-winning score for Out of Africa (which also took the Oscar as Best Picture) is that it almost never was; director Sydney Pollack had originally envisioned the film with native African music, going as far as laying the indigenous score down as he was editing. But the weight of John Barry''s arguments--not to mention his considerable track record and composing gifts--held sway, and the composer delivered on his intent: a lush, romantic masterpiece for the ages.

Edward Scissorhands

A magical journey through a young man''s life.
A quite different young man who feels rejected by others, unhappy... but who manages to find himself useful by helping people and, in a way, gain recognition and social acceptance.
Music which represents every single moment of Edward''s life, his laugh and joy, his fear and sorrow.
A true musical masterpiece, enriching a wonderful movie.
