Glasgow Film Festival

The Glasgow Film Festival 2008 is scheduled to be held between 14 and 24 February.
Opening the film festival is  Woody Allen’s film Cassandra’s Dream, starring Ewan Mcgregor and Colin Farell. Ryan Gosling in Lars and the Real Girl will close the film festival.

8 Tips for doing Eye Makeup

1. Clean and wash your eyes before applying eye makeup.

2. Choose the eye shadow color that suits your eyes. Day to night makeup can be handled with the use of neutral or brown eyeshadow color. For the glamour feeling, use metallic eyeshadow.

3. Use concealer to cover the dark circles under the eyes.

4. Pick pale shimmer color type for your highlighter. Shimmery warm beige, Pale gold highlighter or Pale shimmery peach are recommended for warm skin color. Dark skin tone can go for darker gold or amber. While cool skin can be enhanced with pale pink, cool beige or pale pink highlighter.

5. Be careful not to tug the skin around the eyes, this might cause the formation of early wrinkles.

6. Always keep the makeup eye liner pencil in the refrigerator to make it easier to sharpen and use to makeup your eye.

7. Apply mascara and separate the eye lashes.

8. To erase mascara or makeup, use of a cotton and eye makeup remover.

Reality movies and the Oscar nomination list

The movies There Will Be Blood, Atonement, No Country For Old Men, Juno and Michael Clayton were nominated for the best picture in the Oscar list for the 80th Academy Awards.

No Country For Old Men picked up eight nominations, including best director and best screenplay for Joel and Ethan Coen, while There Will Be Blood earned eight nominations for best director, best screenplay and best actor (Daniel Day Lewis).

Atonement picked up seven nominations, as did the thriller Michael Clayton - best screenplay, best supporting actress (Tilda Swinton), best supporting actor (Tom Wilkinson) and best actor (George Clooney).

A big surprise was Juno, an independent comedy about a pregnant teenager: best picture and best actress (Canadian newcomer Ellen Page).
